About

Recognising outstanding innovation in public sector technology since 2003

In 2003, the inaugural 'e-Government National Awards' were established to reward outstanding achievement and innovation in the use of technology to help businesses and citizens interact with Government.

Covering national and local government, the NHS, agencies, emergency services, education and many other public sector organisations, the awards attracted over 450 entries in 2010 – but only 72 entries across 11 categories made it through to the shortlist.

In 2011 the awards have been re-named as the UK Public Sector Digital Awards, and we're proud to say that the Awards will continue to focus on rewarding the most innovative and effective uses of technology to connect the public to government services.

The PublicTechnology.net portfolio was founded in 2003 by Chris Histed, and Chris continues to advise & assist on its future strategy.

Prime Minister David Cameron

The Awards recognise some of the brilliant work done by digital specialists working across national and local government. One of our big ambitions is to make government more transparent, open and accountable and digital communications will play a massive part in that. I congratulate all the nominees and encourage all digital specialists across the public sector to follow their good example and innovation.
